Confirmed from Emeralda Marsh Conservation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Emeralda Marsh Conservation Area

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (378 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“Beautiful drive when park is open from February to May for motorized vehicles.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

“A great little slice of nature and it is worth a visit for a peaceful way to enjoy some of the natural beauty Florida still has left!”

One of my favorite spots to hike. Birds, deer, and bobcats are just a few of the wildlife I've seen in the marsh. Beautiful sunrise and breathtaking sunsets.

★★★★★ — Micheal , Apr 2024

Good place for some peace and quiet. I have seen people fishing from a small bridge. Cars (weekend), hikers and cyclists are allowed. The area has been reopened. Great for nature, alligators, small animals & plenty of birds. The 'restoration' took away some of the roads.

★★★★★ — Phil , Mar 2018

I went during the months you can drive the trail. For clarity, you can walk the trail year-round but only drive it from February to the end of May. There's a downloadable guide that explains some of the more interesting points on the trail.

★★★★☆ — Wendy , Jun 2026

Very peaceful. Drive thru is open only on weekends from February until May but can be walked and biked any day. Great for a picnic or just a relaxing walk. There are als many fishing spots on certain trails.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
