Confirmed from Ensign Peak Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Easy to manage trail featuring a monument to early settlers that features panoramic views of the city and the Salt Lake Valley.

This a fun, short hike with great views of the Salt Lake and the SLC skyline! The trail closes around 10, so I'd recommend going near dusk to see the city sparkle! The trail is fairly steep and uneven if you want to climb all the way up, but there is a decent vantage point below it that is easier to walk to.
Great, short hike 5-10 min drive from downtown. It’s was a 20 min hike up at a slow pace, stopping to take photos. Was 72 degrees at 6am but headed for the high 90s but most of the hike was in shade before the sun came over the higher peaks.
Ensign Peak is a great hike with friends and/or family. Even alone with your pup because it is safe. You can see all of Salt Lake from the top. Including the north view of the Great Salt Lake. Must check it out for a fun Spring/Summer/Fall Hike!
