Confirmed from Etowah Hiking Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Etowah Hiking Trail
“Didn't pass anyone on the green loop trail which was well marked as was a white and orange trail.”
Native Umbrella Magnolia trees dominate several sections of this trail and give it a tropical feel. The clear-cut areas are great for birding- we heard the rising scale call of prairie warblers as well as red eyed vireos and more common birds. The Boy Scout troops have done an excellent job with the bridges.
CCSWA and U.S. GSA land off the beaten path. Parking for 6-8 cars and only 2 cars when visiting on a Sunday around 1:00. Didn't pass anyone on the green loop trail which was well marked as was a white and orange trail.
Many winding trail options around the forest that are long and interesting. They're clearly marked and are somewhat challenging.
A well maintained trail system. A new bridge was just installed at T10. They're moving the white trail a bit to make a hill a bit easier with a couple of switch-backs.
