Confirmed from Heritage Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Great paved walk trails, well maintained park, very clean and beautiful. It's long enough to get more than 3 miles of walking. The river runs thru, adding to the view. Great places for walking, running, bicycles and t to play around. Large grass areas and playground available. You also can bring your dog for a walk.

I power walk here quite often. It's an easy 1 mile concrete paved trail with an outdoor gym, bathrooms, and children's playground. Also, a connecting paved trail leads to Etowah Park.

Such a great place to go and have fun with family and friends! So much open space and a great place to take your dogs! If you’re looking for a nice place to just have a walk or run and a place to relax, I definitely recommend coming to Heritage Park!

Wide open. Usually busy but not too crowded from a dog walking perspective. The park apperantly ties into other areas but I have not walked those because I usually have my dogs that are stupid and as well behaved as their owner. The apple does not fall far from the tree. But a nice wide open park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
