Confirmed from Falls View Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 13 mentions

“The view is beautiful and surprisingly calming — the kind of place where you can just breathe, listen to the water, and feel time slow down a little.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Perfect spot for a short walk, quiet reflection, or simply enjoying nature with someone you love.”

Beautiful views of the falls. There’s even a short path that takes you down closer to the water and the old power plant.

Falls View park was very pretty and unique. A good stop with information provided throughout the walk; it is succinct and interesting. The walkway is accessible but to go lower down the park to experience the rest of the falls from the downstream river level there are steps. People had pets leashed.

Falls View Park offers visitors scenic views of the Cohoes Falls. The park is four acres and has an upper and lower viewing areas. To get to the viewing areas you have to cross a 192 foot pedestrian bridge. The park is well kept and neat. There is a parking lot located across the street from the park.

I came across these falls when searching for waterfalls on the map and saved the destination for when I’d be in the area. It seems like there are maybe a couple of other view points but I liked that this had a paved walk towards a lovely panoramic view. The walk is short, about .5mi round trip.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
