Confirmed from Ferguson Canyon Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This is one of my favorite hikes I’ve done. It’s not difficult and it’s very scenic. It has a solid trail path, nice walk, water is going down stream, and the moving water is safe to drink. It’s actually really good lol and I’d recommend a sip.

This is a beautiful spot to hike, walk dogs, and rock climb. Hiking the trail starts off sunny, but once you go down into the canyon there's plenty of nice shade and a cool creek, which is very pleasant in the summer. In late spring and through the summer, there's also plenty of pretty wildflowers to see.

This trail is rated HARD. I would agree. Beautiful trail with lots of shade. Trail is not well marked, and you can easily find yourself off trail. Very very rocky, wet, and slippery. Parking, and trail head is in a neighborhood, and is very limited.

★★★★☆ — Stacy , Jun 2020

Lovely trail. A bit steep of 1500 feet elevation in just 1.6 mile, so not for everyone. Gorgeous views when you get to the top. But nice sunset view at the trailhead on any day Safe to hike even in the winter. It is steep, so need crampons and hiking sticks.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
