A nice easy trail to hike, it's about 2.3 miles up to the river crossing and even during the summer the tree canopy covers the old railroad corridor to provide shade. There is one small stretch just over a mile in that is almost always muddy but can generally be avoided by carefully navigating the side of the trail.
Walked about 8 miles, and it never felt like we were out as long as we were. There is nothing to see but the trees, no animal, no real scenery. Still a great walk
My friends and I went for a beautiful 7.7 mile hike out to the white trail and back. We saw several deer and evidence of the wild hogs. It was too cold for any gators to be hanging out. Watch out for the roots, they love to test your agility.
