Confirmed from Flora Wylie Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Flora Wylie Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (871 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“The park was filled with walkers, runners, bikers, and skaters, and it is safe, well-maintained, and has ample parking spaces available.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 13 mentions

“It appears very safe and the bay is beautiful albeit smelly right now due to the blue-green algae but this doesn’t stop folks from fishing and picnicking.”

🐕 dog-walking favorite 5 mentions

“Very dog and kid friendly and it’s great to see so many people jogging, walking, biking, playing soccer or volleyball.”

If you’ve come to Florida and become disillusioned or even depressed at the amount of “old” people then come explore this park. By. “Old” I don’t mean anything having to do with age. There are people in their 40’s and 50’s that are old. At Flora Wylie so will be with people of all chronological ages getting it done.

Saint Petersburg, Florida area is absolutely beatifull. We took a Segway tour and this park was part of the tour. Some of the most amazing views and a great place to just hang out, picnic, jog, take your dog or whatever. We recommend visiting this park when in Saint Petersburg.

Great place to walk, enjoy the fresh air and workout! We take our dog here for walks and this park provides lots of open space for him to run around. Also a great place to hammock on the trees. Convenient seating.

This is one of several parks along the St Petersburg bay. The asphalt and cement North Bay Trail is 6 miles long and transverses the parks along the bay. The views are spectacular.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
