Confirmed from Weedon Island Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“It was a relatively easy hike with mostly dirt paths on the Boyscout trail which was more challenging even on a straightaway.”

We visited Weedon on our vacation since as a family, we enjoy hiking. It was a relatively easy hike with mostly dirt paths on the Boyscout trail which was more challenging even on a straightaway. The other trails had a boardwalk with several look out points and towers that one could climb.

I had a great time visiting this park. The entrance is free, which is a huge plus, and the overall experience was just great. It was a beautiful day, and I really enjoyed walking around and taking in the sights. The restrooms were clean, which is always a relief when you're out and about.

The Weedon Island Preserve in Tampa, Florida, is a true gem for anyone who loves the outdoors. With miles of scenic boardwalks and trails winding through mangroves, tidal flats, and coastal forests, it’s the perfect spot for long walks, peaceful jogs, or just a relaxing escape into nature.

An amazing place with endless trails. The trails are well maintained and you mostly walk in the shade. Peaceful and quiet. Benches are scattered around to rest. The Education Center is a great place to learn about the Native American presence in the area. The videos and exhibits are very informative.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
