Confirmed from Forest Ridge Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Tranquil park featuring a network of wooded trails for hiking and picnics.
What runners say about Forest Ridge Preserve
“Well maintained and managed for family gatherings, picnics, walking, play dates, and more!”
“Beautiful park trails are steep muddy and worn I would definitely rank this as a harder area but beautiful scenery!”
This park is a fantastic spot for outdoor enthusiasts, with great hiking trails that offer some good inclines. The paths wind through lush, wooded areas, providing plenty of shade and a sense of seclusion. Be prepared for muddy trails, especially after it rains, which adds to the adventure.
This place is great for bird lovers! The moment we parked we were lucky enough to see a indigo bunting, American goldfinch, Northern cardinal, blue jay and a Cooper's Hawk... my 1st also a baby racoon but back to the trail.
Camped her for 2 nights, if your hiking the buckeye trail it is free, otherwise it's only day rental pavilions, 3 of them. No electricity, long drop toilets only. At the end where there is the turnaround, is where all the young kids go to smoke weed and buy and sell it.
Amazingly beautiful. The trails require a bit of stamina since you're basically walking uphill 50% of the time. You can't see too far out since you're surrounded by woods, but the valleys and the trees provide a great view and experience.
