Confirmed from Fox River Bluffs Forest Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Fox River Bluffs Forest Preserve
The actual trail is a very short, flat loop, but there is a large forest area behind it which is very interesting. There are no bathrooms, and it is kind of far out of town considering how small the trail is. Briskly walking, it is completable in about 25 mins or less.
A lovely walk around a young native prairie oak savannah restoration. I look forward to returning often to watch the young oaks grow. Illinois the way it was and, hopefully, one of MANY such places around our state in the future.
Small loop and scenic prairie. The trail branches off toward the forest but then just ends. The surrounding forest is fun to explore though.
