Beautiful area for casual walking or hiking. Bait shop on premises is a plus. Bathrooms were clean and not too creepy. Could use more areas near the bank cleared of weeds so there would be more spots to fish. Not over crowded either.
Excellent State Park, from fishing to walking and everything else. It's large enough not to be too claustrophobic when the park is crowded. The park is larger than most people realize. It has property on both sides of the Fox River.
Lots of parking. Walked on a fairly busy Sunday. Trails had minimal elevation gain. We parked in the Loon lake lot and walked about .2 miles to the spring. It was an easy hike. We then topped it off with a mile walk around the lake. This was an easy trail with minimal elevation gain. Extremely peaceful and beautiful.
Nice short hike, different routes, different spots to park. The route that goes by the river is really nice. Be sure to do the short path to the spring. And finally pop out again by the lake. Pretty serene area. Lots of people fishing.
