My family and I hiked on the trail tonight. We did the Amite River Overlook loop which was about a mile long and took a little over an hour with some stops along the way. The trail was not difficult to traverse.
Enjoyed a nice walk. Just found this place and my son and I really enjoyed it. Trails were well marked and easy to follow. Several cars parked at trail head, but only saw 3 other parties on the trail. Very nice for our part of the country. Kid friendly and offers them a sense of adventure and exploration.
this is my favorite brec park to hike. beautiful scenery, swimming hole, plentiful wildlife. the trails are possible to hit all in one day yet not a short hike. look out for snakes!
This was a great trail walk !! I rate 4/5 due to not much “to see” visually for myself. However I enjoyed myself . What I liked most was the trail is “unmarked” on the ground (so it felt like an adventure) its obvious the path and they do have a few tree marks just in case the very light tracking on the ground gets…
