Confirmed from Frontera Audubon Society's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Scenic

Nature preserve and bird watching area featuring wooded trails and opportunities to see turtles.

Amazing gem hidden in Weslaco! This place is a great example of native landscapes in the RGV. Really great for a relaxing walk alone or with family. Despite being in town it's really nice to feel like you've just taken a hike in a remote neo tropical forest filled with beautiful flowers and birds.

I waa blown away by the sheer beauty of this place. There are a LOT of places to go birdwatching in the valley and this is definitely one of, if not the best places to go.

Very beautiful experience with the different kind of birds also our Catholic retreat ment. The sound of the water falling from there, the birds singing, the squirrels running with the seeds, everything was so beautifully, we have this nature in our city and we have yo enjoy what God has given us.

Birding Haven! Introduced to this place when they had a Crimson Collared Grosbeak and Blue Bunting. This is a sanctuary in the center of Weslaco. The trails are beautiful and circle around wetlands, a sabal palm forest and even an orange grove. Definitely recommend this place to soothe the soul.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
