Confirmed from Gibson Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Cozy-feeling green space featuring playgrounds, a splash pad and basketball courts.
What runners say about Gibson Park
“And the best part is, the playgrounds are superb, they look clean and up to date.”
“Very beautiful park not too crowded”
“They have been renovating little parts of the park here and there which is great, but they removed a lot of shaded seating and have yet to turn the splash pad on in this heat!”
Gipson Park in the city of Weslaco is a great place for the children and adults to have fun. There is a small trail for those who enjoy walking. The park has plenty of trees and shade is abundant. We enjoyed playing with the kids. They have picnic tables.
"You don't stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing." -George Bernard Shaw. I walk this park almost daily, the path around is .25 miles.
My wife and I visited some family nearby and we decided to go there and take our dog with us and eat and then walk around. It's a nice, clean quiet park to go and have a picnic,t take your pet with you. They have a playground for the children as well. There are bathrooms on the property.
My kids were jumping, running and sliding down the slide. Laughing and enjoying a great time with other kids at the park. Just seeing families gather to a bbq, placing boxes of pizza on their tables to share with their family. It's just pleasantly beautiful. Aside that I went to the restroom there was no toilet paper.
