Confirmed from FWMBA-Gateway Park Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about FWMBA-Gateway Park Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (167 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“It is a really well maintained park, well-signed, challenging, and has a nice degree of elevation change for the DFW area.”

Excellent directional single-track course, courteous riders that announce they are coming behind (step off to the side at earliest opportunity). There are two sides for mountain biking; east of the river is for advanced riders, west of the river is a relatively easy 3.

The downhill jump section at East Trail is a must-ride spot. It’s short but packed with excitement, offering a thrilling ride you won’t want to miss!

★★★★★ — Jds , Feb 2025

Amazing trail! Well maintained and an absolute blast to ride. Some sections are quite technical so just do your research and choose the loops that are appropriate for your skill level and you'll be golden... Shred on! 🤘

★★★★★ — Juan , Dec 2019

Actually a great 10 mile-ish trail with a little bit of everything, some intense climbs, some flow, some wooded, some not, and some fun features. If it's hot, just do the inside loop a few times and you're pretty much in the cool wooded area the whole time, and you can work on setting a good time.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
