Confirmed from Graham Creek Kayak Launch's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Moved to Gulf Shores over a year ago and just discovered this Nature reserve. Beautiful place. It has a picnic area, a couple different kinds of playgrounds, archery area for adults and kids, kayak launch, and walking trail. Will definitely bring grandkids when they come for a visit.

This is the perfect spot to easily launch from. It's very peaceful and an easy route.

★★★★★ — David , Jul 2021

A great place to kayak without worrying about boaters. It's about a two-mile round trip to the main Waterway. Very quiet

★★★★★ — Gregory , Jan 2019

Gem of a place. Differing habitats. Quiet. Trails. Hiking or mountain biking. Kayaking. Canoeing. Good place to walk the dogs just keep them on a short leash and be mindful as this is a wild place not Disney. Frisbee golf course. You can fly model planes here. Will be back to drop the yak in soon.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
