Confirmed from City Of Gulf Shores Wetlands Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Scenic park with walking trails, a fishing pier, benches & gazebos in a wetlands setting.
What runners say about City Of Gulf Shores Wetlands Park
“Beautiful and secluded for being in the middle of town at the Sportsplex.”
“It is quiet and peaceful and beautiful.”
Such a beautiful little nature park with a nice, short trail! We particularly love the vegetation of Wetlands and Swamps, so we really enjoyed the walk. 😀 We saw a couple of pickerelweeds and some really cool bald cypress trees growing in water.
Nice little park with a path around old dig pits that are now swampland. Mosquitoes can be quite bad in warmer weather, so bring bug spray. I see people occasionally try and fish here, but there's nothing worthwhile to catch. I would advise against fishing here.
Beautiful and secluded for being in the middle of town at the Sportsplex. Nice to jog around and clear your mind.
This gem was a great little find!! It is back behind (beside) the Gulf Shores Sports complex. Nice little walking trail. You can fish. Pets allowed on a leash. There are a few places with a bench that you can sit and enjoy the tranquility and beauty.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceCrushed gravel — the rail-trail classic: softer than asphalt, still smooth enough for tempo work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
