Confirmed from Grant Rea Park Recreation Building's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“large park with plenty of baseball fields well maintained.”

My first time visiting Grant Rea Park.. entered through the Rio Hondo lower bike trail just south of the Rio Hondo Dam.. large park with plenty of baseball fields well maintained.. picnic benches for gatherings special occasions and barbecues..

Was a nice little place in which to kill a bit of time with the kiddos. I was a little surprised at the size of the zoo, though. We took our time walking, as we had two small boys with us, yet we still finished the entire walk-through in about 45 minutes. The train ride, (obviously) was also quite short.

We came to my nieces birthday party at this park and parking was a bit hard to find. There is a baseball field (a game was happening) maybe that's why parking was hard to find but the park is big. There's a small water park and a petting zoo.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“It also looks very refreshing for family members since there are many water activities to do as well as a place to grill and many seats near bathrooms.”
