Confirmed from Montebello City Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Montebello City Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,033 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 8 mentions

“The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the amenities, including clean restrooms and picnic areas, were top-notch.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Beautiful well keep park with clean restrooms great kids of all ages just no barbecue pits”

The park grounds are very well maintained. The guys that work there do an excellent job. Lots of trees. Only reason i gave it 4 stars is there is only 1 set of bathrooms available on weekends, so its a little walk to that side of the park.

I just enjoy going for a walk with my wife or just for a run... Great for skaters, has a great skate park...

★★★★★ — Juan , Mar 2019

I visited this park last weekend and was blown away by the quality of service. The park staff were incredibly friendly, offering useful information about the trails and local wildlife. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the amenities, including clean restrooms and picnic areas, were top-notch.

★★★★★ — Gene , Apr 2025

I have visited this park many times and even though they keep it extremely clean and cut the park seems to be aging and in need of a face-lift like painting, upgrading the walkways, bathrooms, amphitheater and adding more Picnic benches under the beautiful shaded trees that stand alone ...

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 5 mentions

Plan your run at Montebello City Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
