Confirmed from Greenwood Community Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Lakeside expanse with boat rentals, a golf course with a pro shop, tennis, fishing & a dog park.

Lovely though out-of-the-way park near the Baton Rouge Zoo featuring a playground, picnic pavilions, boat dock, cafe and shop, hiking trail, and lake. Many eating birds such as cormorants and great blue heron can be seen regularly around the lake.
A wonderful place for family workouts , fresh air the beauty of simple things in life great place to spend quality time with family & friends clean , safe environment , perfect for long walks
Beautiful park. Some of the “bear” park was still under construction on the day we visited. Lots of playground equipment for kids. While several areas have shade, there could be a few more. The walk around the lake is fun. It is relatively short with lots of vegetation to see.
We were here for boo at the zoo it was awesome other than the amount of people there parking was half a mile from the zoo and then getting out from here the line was at least half a mile long. Other than that we had a great time enjoy it and we will be back

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
