Confirmed from Haskell Open Space's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Nice easy walking with some more challenging offshoot trails.”

2024 Update. The more gentle ascent is to the left from the Copper Hill parking entrance. Below is the immediate ascent to the right. Steep uphill climb from the parking spot on Copper Hill. Too steep for me and the dogs.

Beautiful views. Decent parking. You can hike high along the hilltops or through the canyon. It's steep and hilly in some areas, even in the canyon, so maybe not ideal for someone with knee or ankle issues. It's a light to moderate hike depending on where you go.

A wonderful place to take a hike, a walk, or a bike ride. Many unpaved trails. I suggest you take water on a hot day. The sound of the birds, the green of the hills and the calm of being away is a must. Very easy trails available. Not recommended for someone who needs paved pathways or even ground.

★★★★★ — Nancy , Jan 2020

Great local spot for a quick hike. Good for dogs also. There is an easy path and a steep path so good for anyone whether just out for a walk or trying to get in a good workout. Probably not something I would travel to as a non local hike as it's less than an hour typically to do the entire loop.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
