Confirmed from Heavenly Waters Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Heavenly Waters Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (38 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

They have great walking trails and you can go from Annie's playground to the mall. I believe soon you will be able to go further.. On the weekends it can be a little crowded but during the week it is not mobbed. Plenty to do for kids as well and they do have bathrooms.

Nice place to walk, places to sit and enjoy the scenery, you can see deer, hawks and walk your fur babies!!

★★★★★ — Bonnie , Mar 2019

This for me is a very pleasant place to walk. Walking is my main type of exercise and the paths at heavenly waters park have some good elevations to get the blood flowing. It does get busy at times so you need to be patient with others. Walkers, runners, bikers and animal lovers can all enjoy this trail.

Heavenly Waters has a very lovely trail with part of it being a raised boardwalk over the water and some of the wooded area. It a very nice hidden gem right in Bel Air.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“the part between Tolgate Park and Annie's Playground has a nice stream for kids and dogs, and the dog park is a nice place to let dogs be dogs together, off leash.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
