Confirmed from High Point Monument's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about High Point Monument

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (818 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“We went after The Summer Season - Handicap parking available and a ramp Views are magnificent no sinks in the bathrooms, working clean toilets, no sinks?”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 16 mentions

“Last time, I was rewarded with one of the most stunning sunsets of my life!”

Highest point in NJ. Wide open 360 degree beautiful views. Make sure to visit Marcia Lake and beach down below. There are also picnic tables down the street in the woodsy area, and a few picnic tables at the monument, lake, & beach too. It's a nice day trip to walk around and have a picnic lunch too! 😄

Amazingly high views you can see for miles and usually climb up to the top of the tower, but there was an event going on. So I think that's pretty neat, you can rent the tower for events, there's camping down the side through the park and a swimming hole! It was absolutely beautiful 😍

Wonderful attraction and landmark. Offers a nonobstructed view for miles! A tribute to service members and a place just to stop, picnic, rest and reflect. The obelisk is an impressive structure to mark the highest point in New Jersey.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
