Confirmed from High Point Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Starting point for several scenic, wooded trails on Tiger Mountain, including one around a lake.

What runners say about High Point Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (514 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“The summit is beautiful and a challenge, but the bus trail, swamp trail and tradition lake loop are easy and very kid friendly.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“I think a pretty easy hike for most people with lots of tree cover on the trails for hot summer days, while peaks are mostly exposed.”

Easy to find Trail head giving access to the Tiger Mountain Trail. Bathrooms and free parking. Closer to the trail head is there is parking that requires a discover pass which gives access to a lot of Washington State parks. The free parking is a 15 minute hike to the main trail. Bring water and snacks.

There are several trails to chose from that range from moderate to easy. This review is for the West Tiger #3 trail. It is constantly steep all the way to the viewpoint 3 miles. The trails are wide and are groomed enough so that double hikers can be side by side. There are many old trees so the walk is nice.

Entry point for several easy hikes (around the lake, forest loop) as well as a strenuous one to West Tiger #3. Note to that tiger #3 is the ugliest mountaintop among the i-90 trails and much of the trail is a logging road, so you'd do it only because it's a great way to build back your mountain legs.

So happy we got to visit here this week. I ventured out today with my sister to see what it was like before attempting a hike with my kids in tow. There are definitely some loops that I’ll have to save for when my hubby and I are alone but I’m excited to return and explore all of the various trails with my family!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
