Confirmed from Hillside Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Recreational venue with a playground and a dog-friendly area featuring a basketball court and a tennis court.
What runners say about Hillside Park
“Clean grass, clean paths, clean tables.”
“Place to read a book , or newspaper , as I do on sunny days, and half hour nap in car while the sun beats against my face under a beautiful shade tree !”
“Quaint little park very little foot traffic dog friendly.”
Clean grass, clean paths, clean tables. Sometimes the high schoolers leave their booze there so it can be dirty, but the dogs all have fun and run around.
Nice large park with a vast field, light hiking, tennis courts and a playground. Lots of dogs here daily even if there isn't a dog corral. Parking can be scarce, but we usually don't have a problem finding street parking and walking in.
Fantastic ! Place to read a book , or newspaper , as I do on sunny days, and half hour nap in car while the sun beats against my face under a beautiful shade tree ! Thank you , Jesus ! LL KOOL RAY 😎

Trail conditions & character
“I would be careful if you have a dog that doesn't get along with others though, as there were a few off-leash dogs that passed through while I was there.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
