We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Hitchcock Woods: Clark Road Entrance yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Hitchcock Woods: Clark Road Entrance

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (54 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Love hiking here and going for a run sometimes. But ground is very sandy and hard to get though and not possible to mountain bike here at all. Wish they had some more maintained trails that weren’t just mainly for horses

★★★★★ — Relleka , Nov 2017

I was amazed at the size of this place and the quality of the trails. Great place for a hike in a beautiful area. I'll definitely be back!

★★★★★ — Tommy , Dec 2020

There are 7 entrances to this area. I started at the Clark Road entrance. There is very little parking is available at this entrance. I only went about 1/4-1/2 mile, made a loop and headed back. The hills were steep and gutted so make sure to wear non slippery shoes. I'm told that not all the trails are like that.

Came here and had a picnic. Easy hiking for the most part, and beautiful scenery.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
