Confirmed from Holmes Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Lakeside park comprising open space & walking paths, plus a public golf course & an observatory.
What runners say about Holmes Lake Park
“Holmes Lake itself reflects the changing hues of the sky, creating a picturesque backdrop that captivates the senses and fosters a deep connection with the environment.”
I love this park because my granddaughter loves everything about the outdoors. My wife, wearing “Love is Better Than Kale” tshirt also loves to walk around the perimeter with me, in good weather—easily picking up those 5,000 steps per day that we all need.
If you're looking for a nice place for an evening stroll or to take in the sunset, this is one of the best in Lincoln. It's a flood prevention lake built by the Army Corps of Engineers surrounded by a city park.
Best park of Lincoln ! Beautiful lake with nice design to optimize the view as well as other activities like running, biking, fishing, BBQ). You can get the feeling of nature but not too wild nature. They also have a playground for kids. There are many parking lots around the lake so you can enter from many gates.
Sunrise kayaking and hiking around Holmes Lake was a hit with the dogs this morning! We always enjoy spotting lots of different birds around the lake.
