Confirmed from Huckleberry Island Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly hiking area with a mix of covered and uncovered trail and wildlife sightings.
What runners say about Huckleberry Island Trailhead
“The main trail is a dirt paved real and well-kept, The smaller ones are grassy unpaved trails.”
“Many shaded areas on the trail, so you're not in 100% sun.”
We went with the specific intention of finding wildlife and it did not disappoint! We saw several alligators, venomous snakes and were the only folks on the trail. If you are with your children or dogs keep them close as there was an abundance of snakes right on the trail.
Great walking trail. Great for dog walking and enjoying Florida nature.
This is a very nice trail. It has shaded trails as well. We enjoyed it a lot. We only walked until we reached the campfire site, but there was more to go. We took our time enjoying it.
I had a great hike here it's pretty secluded pretty long with some different biomes including a nice chunk of Cypress swamp. And it's free.
