Confirmed from Hudson River Greenway Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Hudson River Greenway Trail
“The views is beautiful, just walk along the Hudson River side.”
We parked car in Rockland Lake State Park, then walk 2 kilometers to get in the trail. We chose the way to Nyack beach park. The around trip is 8 km. The views is beautiful, just walk along the Hudson River side. We only took a short trip to the other side,Haverstraw beach park.
This mostly gravel trail was situated perfectly between a steep cliff face and the Hudson River. You do see other people and bikers occasionally, but we went for long stretches alone. The fall weather made for a perfect walk.
This is a five start trail no doubt about it. I am not sure for any of the reviews that scored it lower (what was the trail missing?) but my experience has been positive over two years with everyone respecting each other.
Great place for nice quiet walk or bike ride along the Hudson. Sun in the morning shade in the afternoon. It's a steep hill getting down to start the trail.
