I parked at Nyack beach and took the white trail to the green trail for a wonderful 6 mile hike up to the cliff ridge and down and around to finish off on the wonderful Hudson river bike path. Took me just over 3 hours. I hike it solo and it was quite easy even with wet rocks after a day of raining.
Amazing views of Hudson river. Trail comprising of Nyack Beach and Hook Mountain loop is definitely more than moderate hike and takes around two and half hours to complete, but totally worth it. Parking is now open and charged $8. Barring some areas trail is well marked, but all trail app is handy at those places.
The views from the top of the mountain are awesome and it's cool seeing the Hawks flying below you off the trail. A moderate hike on the top, and the paths down to the shore path are good and decently marked
Very nice and scenic hike. Start at base where the parking lot is. Lower deck is quite small but there are 2 levels. $8 per car which isn’t bad. The hike up was moderate intensity, nothing spectacular to see either besides some very pretty deer. It’s not a constant incline too so it’s very manageable for even kids.
