Confirmed from Rockland Lake Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Rockland Lake Trail
“Great paved running/biking trail around the lake.”
A scenic and challenging hike, with two main plateaus. The unfenced section overlooking the Hudson is great, but ideally some barricade should be erected there since it is only a matter of time before some kids smoke a doob at the edge then believe that they can fly.
Nice natural trail! Great for hiking beginners, runs along a lake and not too steep or hilly. Clean and not too crowded. Greatest part is that you have lots of places to eat and drink around there after your trail.
Great paved running/biking trail around the lake. Minimal elevation gain, so fairly flat. Its a perfect 5k if you stick to the inside circle path that hugs the lake, so pretty nice and easy to keep track of if you just wanna zone out.
Paved trail that circumnavigates the Lake. Great for running, cycling, or just walking. Look for the remains (including signage) of the ice cutting industry that shipped blocks of ice to Manhattan.
