Jim Hamm’s family donated this land in honor of Jim Hamm who was shot down over Vietnam in 1968 and to honor all St. Vrain Valley Veterans who fought in that war. Jim spent his youth exploring and appreciating the wild environment that once was part of his grandfather’s farm (Elmer Montgomery).
Having visited this pond since I was a baby you can tell development has wanted to take as much away from this little piece of serenity for decades. But it still holds on.
VERY pretty right now. Incredibly green, birds everywhere, beautiful sunset. Great place for an evening walk.
Nice place for a short walk. To "go around" the pond, you end up on neighborhood streets for a part and can get back to the pond path from there. Ths Is it not a big place, but has nice little views and is good to just get out.
