This was my very first visit to trails around Joaquin Miller Park, and Wow!! I'd put this in one of my favorite hikes within the Bay area. It was a beautiful cool misty Saturday morning and felt like walking in a rainforest. Started the hike at 7.45 am and went on for 2 hours or so.
One of the best parks in Oakland. Great hiking trails surrounded by redwoods. Also has a great view of Oakland, San Francisco, and the bay at Lookout Point.
Super fun park to ride your mountain bike lots of trails for all different levels beginners to advance technical trails. I love it. I make time to stop by once a week to stay in shape. Cant beat the views over the bay. Bring plenty water. Some narrow trails at the bottom part but still okay for a bike to go through.
I love to take my dogs to this park. It’s nice having the dog parks, but it’s nicer walking them on the main path or one of the smaller trails. The main path is fairly wide and paved. There’s usually lots of parking and lots of available tables for picnics.
