Confirmed from John's Woods at Tattersall Farm's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about John's Woods at Tattersall Farm

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (20 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Never a lot of people so that's a nice thing if you want some quiet time.”

Great place to walk the dog. Well kept. Wood planks and little bridges in muddy or wet areas. Not a super long walk , I think just right for most. You can make it longer if your aware of the area, adventurous and take some side trails. Never a lot of people so that's a nice thing if you want some quiet time.

Just a simple loop just less a mile but fairly quiet. Ample parking. And don't forget the bug spray!

★★★★★ — Amy , Jun 2020

Very nice loop to walk that seems to be about a little over a mile long. It is a great hike with my son who is 2. Nothing too intense. Has lots of nice features in the woods like several bridges that cross streams. And also a nice field that is filled with wild flowers.

★★★★☆ — Do , Aug 2018

John's Woods at Tattersall Farm is part of the City of Haverhill Park System. There are several short trails that loopping back to the parking lot, passing though new forest and fields. This ideal Deer Tick habitat, so apply DEET.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
