Confirmed from Johnson Hills Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with hiking trails, a public restroom, and picnic tables, plus an embedded disc golf course.
What runners say about Johnson Hills Park
“18 hole disc golf course, well maintained grounds, paved walking track, pavilion, plenty of parking, lots of room to take pups to roam, overall a nice park.”
“Very clean park with great views and plenty of places to sit (benches and hills for a true picnic experience).”
This is a beautiful hidden gem in Anderson Township. They have a great disc golf course embedded in rolling hills. The home is stunning to look at too. There are easily accessible trails to walk and it's dog-friendly.
This park is absolutely stunning. Not your typical park, yet a welcome surprise. The land is beautiful, high on a hill, surrounded by trees and hills. The park offers many hiking trails that are miles long in the woods, over creeks and under a canopy. There is a Frisbee golf course throughout the front section.
Park is simple and nice for hikers and has a nice large lawn. Very fun, underrated (lesser known) disc golf course, almost all wooded. Front 9 is balanced in terms of difficulty and distances. Back 9 is all longer holes and overall quite difficult.
I love this park and course. It is a great place to take my whole family. While I play disc golf my wife and daughter walk the trails and sometimes will join me. It is a great place for us to bring our dog too. He loves the hiking trails and the open fields.

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
