I ride the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail quite often, weather permitting. It is paved and well marked. There are several locations to access the trail and a good spot is Galesburg Primary school off 35th street in Galesburg, if coming from the east.
This is such a peaceful trail to walk, or bike ride. There is a lot of wild life to see. I usually see a lot of rabbits and deer right by the trail. There are no benches to sit and rest, so make sure you want to be up and going!!
This is a great trail to enjoy year round. Great for walking dogs or riding bikes. The kids use it to go to the splash pad.
Started at Mile Marker 21 in Galesburg at the intersection of 35th & Battle Creek Ave. But my recommendation is to start at the Galesburg County Park that has plenty of parking, public toilets, picnic shelter, playground. You can follow the paved path west along Battle Creek Ave and continue west to K’zoo.
