Confirmed from Kay's Creek Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Kay's Creek Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (19 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

It's not long but it's not short, with a few lovely inclines and routes to choose from. It's wild enough we saw two deer, but just off the main road for semi easy access. There were several swimmers, and people letting their dogs enjoy the water.

★★★★★ — Raymond , Jul 2024

Very nice trail that is about 8ft wide of newly paved walkway. Easy walk with slow inclines/declines from the trailhead to the fork just past the parking area. The trail goes well past that and is a very steep climb. There are nice benches along the trail, usually under a tree for shade.

★★★★★ — Erik , Aug 2023

Very nice, lots of wild life, often hidden in the car-tails, careful with young kids, there are cougars in the area as noted on the trail head sign warnings. Lots of deer usually

★★★★☆ — David , Oct 2024

You can walk all the way around the pond too where people fish and paddleboard. Connects to a trailhead parking lot

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
