We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Great Western Trail / Bonneville Shoreline Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Great Western Trail / Bonneville Shoreline Trail
Great little loop. If you’re looking for that little extra workout for the day then definitely add this to your list.
Pretty great trail with some wonderful, picture-worthy spots. It could use some stairs in certain locations.
Beautiful trail with incredible views. It’s as easy as you want it to be. Stick to the main, flatter route or peel off on the steeper side quest canyons, totally up to you! Easy access too! No restrooms so go before you go.
Great trail. Some modestly challenging spots. I am a beginner and had a blast. Going back tomorrow... And the next day... And the next...
