Confirmed from Kelby Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Family-friendly park with play structures, swings and picnic tables.
What runners say about Kelby Park
“it was very clean and well maintained as well.”
It is a very well kept park. Not to mention that it also is a very safe park. No football or soccer going on or baseball. You can walk with your dog but I wouldn't let mine off the leash as it's not fenced in and on one side is a high traffic street. But if ya just want to relax and or move around it's perfect.
This small, quiet park in Covina, which holds a special place in my heart from childhood. While the playground equipment is a bit outdated, with faded colors and some rust, especially on the swings, it still feels perfect in its own way.
Its a nice park to walk your dog or to let your kids play at. Lots of families with small children. Even though its outdoors, please be careful and wear a mask and sanitize your hands often
Trail conditions & character
“You can walk with your dog but I wouldn't let mine off the leash as it's not fenced in and on one side is a high traffic street.”
“It's more accommodating now as the restrooms are completely enclosed and part of the main facility and Senior Center.”
“Parking is always taken by people who live next door but I guess when you got s bunch of people living with you coz housing costs are high it is what it is.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
