Confirmed from Kelley Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Kelley Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (301 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“beautiful, large playground next to a shallow creek for swimming.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

It's a quiet park. A place to dip on the creek, walk the path, enjoy a mowed field area, and also has a dog park too. The kiddos LOVE the large castle/village buildings. Very cool place for the kids to run.

Beautiful location and large playground. The Romano nature trail is open, and if you go only a short distance you will be greeted with easy access to the creek for wading and nature watching. This is the ultimate in social distancing, relaxing on a bench listening to nature and watching the creek drift by 🥰

First time going to the playground, and it was great! We brought buckets/ shovels for the sandbox. Tots section was perfect for my 18mo old, and big kids liked the tunnels and twisty slide. We had a picnic lunch at the "beach" at the end of the trail, and the kids "swam" in the stream.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 10 mentions

“Kelly Park is a great place to take your kids fishing and it has a dog park plenty of playgrounds and slides for the kids my favorite thing to do is to play the xylophone and fish”

  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
