We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Kiwanis park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Kiwanis park
“Favorite family park - beautiful forest and view of the city”
“It was quiet and peaceful.”
Definitely think of this park as more of an added set of amenities for the trailhead here. You have access to the restrooms at the trailhead, where you'll also park. There's a lovely pavilion with plenty of tables, a water fountain, some charcoal grills and a firepit.
Beautiful and great view of the mountains. Great place to stop at the beginning or end of a hike. My family used the pavilion for a private service and it was accommodating and sufficient for our needs. It was quiet and peaceful.
Great spot to have a picnic especially right before one of the many awesome hikes that launch from here. There is Battle Creek hike with lots of waterfalls that walks along the river. There is a hike up to the G, and there is the trail along the Ridgeline to either Grove Creek Canyon or Dry Creek Canyon.
The trail is pretty good. There's some loose slate type rock that is fairly sharp and wouldn't be fun to slip on. The river wasn't running at the bottom but was at the top. The park itself it pretty small. There is a pavilion and some places to sit. The view is nice, especially at sunset
