Confirmed from Anderson Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Family-friendly reserve featuring BBQ grills, volleyball courts and picnic tables.
What runners say about Anderson Park
“There was plenty of shade, tables, and 1 pavilion.”
“It was calm and peaceful, being able to play with my 1 yr old while allowing my in-laws dog to run free and explore to her hearts content.”
This is more of a natural park that does not contain any toys for the kids to play on. However, if you are looking for a park to play volley ball, walk across a few bridges or need to use a pavilion and not want to share with others, then this is the perfect place to go.
This park is an absolute gem. It felt as if I was in the mountains in the middle of a neighborhood. There was plenty of shade, tables, and 1 pavilion. There was a small playground and an amphitheater. We had dogs with us, and they loved it as well. They have a drinking fountain that will even fill up your water bottle!
I love this place. Fruit trees and blackberry bushes abound. Cool and magic-feeling paths through a sleeping-beauty style wooded area. Open grassy area. Not busy any time I've been there.
I've always loved our visits to Anderson Park for the open play and wonderment for the children. It's a wonderful place together altogether with family or friends, larger groups or a simple date night. I love the pavilion space for having a meal or spread out a blanket and amongst the trees.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
