Confirmed from LaBonte Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about LaBonte Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (290 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“However, the skate park has been recently updated and the ballfields are well maintained.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Stopped in Laramie and found this peaceful park to rest and walk around the lake and refresh for more driving.”

We visit Labonte daily with our dog. It has excellent open space, walking paths, and a recently rebuilt skate park. Tons of greenery and old trees make for a very pleasant view during sunrise, sunset, and the abundance of clear sunny days. The lake attracts ducks, geese, and pelicans.

A block away from me it's a nice place to take a walk and just relax. Clean and kept up and sometimes just like to watch the kids on their skateboards!

★★★★☆ — Paula , Aug 2019

I was driving cross country with my dog and needed a break. Stopped in Laramie and found this peaceful park to rest and walk around the lake and refresh for more driving. I recommend it for travelers. Get a sandwich in town and picnic out here. It is not crowded or noisy, like rest stops can be.

★★★★★ — Jen , Jul 2021

Beautiful park with a nice pond in the middle that the locals call Stink Lake. Why stink lake you ask? Because in july-aug timeframe it smells atrocious. The rest of the time however, it's s beautiful park with playgrounds, walking areas, and trees for shade. Great place to take your kids or your dog.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 6 mentions

“But don't let that deter you from one is an otherwise very pleasant Park ideal for bringing children and dogs.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
