Confirmed from Summit Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Fee-charging hiking and biking area with trails and views, plus snowshoeing in winter.
What runners say about Summit Trailhead
“Beautiful hikes and bikes that are not too challenging and easily accessible right off the highway.”
Beautiful hikes and bikes that are not too challenging and easily accessible right off the highway. You can add any number of loops to make it as long or short as you like. In the winter enjoy groomed Nordic traits, snow bike routes, and backcountry tours.
Bathroom was dirty, but thats nature. A rest stop was very close so no big. Even though the trail was relatively close to the highway, the sounds of cars did not intrude too badly. Sights were beautiful excellent lookouts and vantage points.....
This is a nice trail system that is open to hiking, biking and horse back riding. What's missing is a trail map at the kiosk. The online maps are ok but a good printed trail map would be useful for those not familiar with the area.
Nice spot to hike. Easily accessible and a short drive from town. Several trail options to choose from during summer and also a great starting point for snowshoeing and cross country skiing in winter.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.

- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
