Confirmed from Laurel Bluff Trail Head - Lake Brandt's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“I think this is the most scenic and varied in the area and all the aforementioned things make it an excellent trail.”

Beautiful trail. My gorgeous life mate and doggo, went on a peaceful hike today. 7 m8le trail with a sack lunch stop. Easy going lots if turtles and 1 snake. COOL

Went to this trail for the first time with the intention of doing a slower paced 8-10 mile run. Parking.. lot is kind of small for the popularity of the trail (upon first impression). Probably fit 10ish cars? But there’s parking for the marina across the street.

★★★★★ — Kat , May 2023

One of my favorite trails in Greensboro; it's part of the Mountains to Sea trail. It's hiking only and about 3.5 miles one way- it runs between Lake Brandt Rd and Church Street so you can enter from either direction. Contains rugged terrain and views of the lake. Great for hiking and trail running.

★★★★★ — Laura , Jul 2018

This is one of my favorite trails in Greensboro because of its varied scenery. I will get to that in a minute. It is 3.25 miles one way. Hikers only. The trailhead begins on Lake Brandt Road near the dam/water station. Quite a bit of parking available relatively speaking. Maybe 15 cars could fit here.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
