Confirmed from Laurel Hill County Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Sprawling park once part of a plantation with walking, running and bike trails, plus wooded areas.
What runners say about Laurel Hill County Park
“As with most, if not all, the parks that are found in the Charleston area, this park is very clean and well maintained.”
“Absolutely gorgeous park, with wide, well maintained trails and a variety of different scenery.”
“Beautiful park with nice, peaceful trails to walk.”
“Several options for walking trails and dog friendly.”
Lovely park with baseball fields for kids and a nice trail for a walk in the woods. Woodpeckers cardinals all the usual suspects.
Absolutely gorgeous park, with wide, well maintained trails and a variety of different scenery. We did the orange and white trail, which was about 3 miles. Beautiful forests, with a variety of critters. And then it opens up into an amazing avenue of oaks in the heart of the park.
Rode the trail on my bike. As beginner mountain bikes, this trail was great!
Nice trails, very confusing directions. It seems the normal way to access the park is to drive to the Laurel Hill County Park Trailhead (there's a separate Google Maps pin) in the NW corner of the Park West Sports Complex. Park by baseball field 3 and take the path between it and a large grass field.
Trail conditions & character
“Also, there is an observation deck that overlooks the lake that provides a very peaceful opportunity to watch nature and rest.”
“The paved paths around the recrestion areas are in good condition except for a few locations in the wooded section where roots are causing some buckling and bulging of the asphalt.”
“These major trails are used quite a bit by walkers (many with dogs) and bikers as you would expect given the park's location in the center of a major suburb.”
“It is in a convenient and easily accessible location and had ample parking available on an early Sunday morning.”

“We biked the 5 mile loop and while it was fairly rough for my hybrid bike, it's pretty compact and well-cleared.”

“I had to hoist my dog over the fence then climb myself to get out and back to my car and it wasn't even 4:30 pm.”
“Great park, clean restrooms, easy access and available to the public.”
