Confirmed from Living Room Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hike featuring 'furniture' rocks for seating and a city backdrop.
What runners say about Living Room Trail
“The family made it about half way up and then we turned around but the view is quite beautiful without making it all the way to the top.”
“Trails are not well marked and numerous alternative trails abound so use AllTrails to avoid getting loss please.”
This is only a 2.4 mile hike and can take less than 2 hours if you're fit but it's a lot of elevation gain pretty quick so be prepared for that. It's an amazing view of Salt Lake City and the whole valley, definitely worth it!
Nice hike with great views at the top. Unless you have kids and/or dogs, I recommend doing the loop that comes out by the Natural History Museum instead of the out and back. On the way up, be prepared to take frequently breaks if you, like me, are from out of state and are not yet acclimated to the altitude.
Pretty decent hike, nice elevation gain but most folks should be okay with pacing. Lots of families and traffic if the weather is nice. The view at the end makes it totally worth it.
Challenging but rewarding hike. The way up is worth the gorgeous views. I’ve done this hike a few times and it’s my go-to trail when looking for a shorter hike.
Trail conditions & character
“I like going in the evening before the sun goes down when you get a spectacular view of the sunset but be warned it is a very open path without much coverage overhead.”
“4 mile hike and can take less than 2 hours if you're fit but it's a lot of elevation gain pretty quick so be prepared for that.”
“Park on Colorow Rd where the Trailhead is located and hike up an elevation of about 1000 ft to the Living Room overlook.”
“Can get muddy in certain spots because of the snow melt.”

- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
