Confirmed from Margaret's Way Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with kid-friendly hiking trails featuring scenic views on clear days.
What runners say about Margaret's Way Trailhead
“It was well maintained with clear directions all through the loop, though there was a huge tree that was uprooted, towards the end of the trail on our way up.”
“From the moment you arrive, the view is beautiful as you walk along the paths, surrounded by beautiful trees, like something out of a movie.”
A really fun hike to do with a loved one, or alone. We loved the bridges and the easy-to-follow trail. It's definitely been taken care of well. It took us 4 hours round-trip to get to the top and back. But definitely worth it! The views from the top were breathtaking!
More of a moderate hike with a total distance of ~7miles out and back, 1500 elevation gain which took us about 4hrs to complete. We did this hike on a late sunday afternoon and found plenty of parking spots. Parking here is free with no entrance fee to the park and love the proximity to the city.
Easy access, good trail with clear signs. Go on a sunny day if seeing Mt. Rainier is important to you. About 8 miles roundtrip and 1700ft elevation gain to Debbie's view -- moderate for experienced hikers, but challenging if you are not in shape. This is my go-to for a weekday hike when work finishes early (takes me 2.
Parking is tough to find. I went at 11 and parking was almost full. Got lucky and saw a car leaving and found a spot just in time. There is no entry fee to the park and parking is free as well. There are reports of car windows being broken, so be careful.

“It was really dry when I went, so coming down was a little slipping on some of the more powder dirt areas on the few steep paths down closer to the beginning of the trailhead.”
