Confirmed from Martingale Trailhead Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Martingale Trailhead Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (54 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“It's beautiful up here the Vista of the whole valley in the ocean that you could see from up here in PV it's just fantastic”

Nice and enjoyable trail! Several hues! Wouldn't suggest it for toddlers because it is steep in some places. My 7 and 9-year-old children were able to complete the 2.97-mile loop (starting at Lower Willow Spring Trail, continuing on Purple Canyon Trail, and ending at Upper Willow Spring Trail) in 2 hours.

Very nice and fun trail! Lots of shades! Steep in some parts so wouldn't recommend it to toddlers. My 7 and 9 years old were able to finish the whole loop (from Lower Willow Spring trial, Purple Canyon Trail, then Upper Willow Spring trial) of 2.97 miles in 2 hours.

BeautifulBeautiful location, but not very well maintained nor cared for. Also, the Trail's End was not very eventful.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
